Kelsea Ballerini Tests Positive for COVID-19; Kane Brown Steps In to Co-Host CMT Awards


The 2022 CMT Awards will take place tonight (April 11th) on CBS but one of the show’s co-hosts, Kelsea Ballerini, will be not on site.

Kelsea told fans in a video on social media that she tested positive for COVID-19 a few days ago. She said that was the bad news before sharing the good news, she will still be able to share some hosting duties virtually through a studio set up in her home.

The singer also shared that she is feeling much better and will perform on tonight’s show as well.

Kelsea added in the comments, “IF YOU THINK IM NOT USING MY DRIVEWAY AS A RUNWAY FOR ALL MY LEWKS YOUD BE WRONG THOUGH 💪🏼”

Kane Brown, who co-hosted the CMTs with Ballerini in 2021, will step in as a last-minute co-host alongside Anthony Mackie.  

He appeared on CBS this morning with Kelsea and talked about getting the last-minute phone call to co-host.
