Willie Nelson Offers Words of Comfort to Family Of Uvalde, Texas Shooting Victim

Willie Nelson appeared at a rally for Beto O’Rourke in Austin, Texas Sunday night.  The country legend performed during the event and while on stage, he spotted the family members of Jackie Cazares, one of the young Uvalde victims, in the crowd.

According to the Houston Chronicle, Nelson walked over to talk to the side of the stage to share some encouraging words with her parents.

“Remember, it’s not something you ever get over, but it’s something you will get through.”

Nelson has dealt with his own fair share of grief.  His son died in 1991, and his older sister Bobbie just passed away in March at 91.

Jesse Rizo, Jackie’s uncle, told the Houston Chronicle that it meant a lot for Nelson to make the gesture at the end of his performance.

“You get inspired by the support, the people, the love,” Rizo said.
