Watch Miranda Lambert Perform Morgan Wallen’s Hit, “Thought You Should Know,” at Gulf Coast Jam

Miranda Lambert performed at Gulf Coast Jam this weekend.  During her headlining set at the annual Florida festival, Lambert debuted a song familiar to fans…Morgan Wallen’s “Thought You Should Know.”

In case you didn’t know, Lambert co-wrote the #1 hit alongside Wallen and Nicolle Galyon. It was her first-ever No.1 as a songwriter on a song that was recorded by another artist.

During her performance, Lambert changed up one lyric singing, “Yeah, I know you’ve been worrying ’bout me/ You’ve been losing sleep since ’83.”  Morgan, who was born on May 13, 1993, sings “You’ve been losing sleep since ’93.”

Miranda recently appeared on Southern Living’s “Biscuit and Jam” podcast where she talked about writing the song with Wallen and Galyon.  “We were just talking about, like, ‘What do you want to write about?’ And he was like, ‘I kinda wanna write a song to my mom ’cause I know she worries about me so much,’” she shared, “And so we did. It was really cool for Morgan to let down his guard and write with two girls about somebody that’s so special to him. I’m glad that he felt comfortable enough to, like, open up to us and let us sort of tell that story for her.”

Miranda is back in the studio recording new music and released a duet with fellow Texan Leon Bridges last week.
