New ‘Parks After Dark’ Program to Launch in Virginia Beach for the Summer

The City of Virginia Beach and Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation has announced a new free event series at Williams Farm Park this summer.

Parks After Dark will begin on June 8 and run to Aug. 26 featuring live music, movies, lawn games, food trucks, and more. The new initiative was created to help establish a safe space for fun and family-friendly activities during evening hours when there are often fewer activities available for teens.

“Parks After Dark hits three things that every parent looks for in a summer activity—it’s free, fun and out of the house!” said Michael Kirschman, director of Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation. “This is a program created for the local community, by the local community, too.”
