How Popular 12-Foot Yard Skeletons are Helping Save Lives at St. Jude

If you love the popular 12-foot yard skeletons that sell out every Halloween, you’re about to love them even more!

A viral nationwide effort called “Skeletons for St. Jude” started in 2020 and has helped raise over $400,000 dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital!

Homes across the country use their haunted displays to raise money to support children and families impacted by childhood cancer.  The group is hoping to raise an additional $100,000 this holiday season to bring the total to a cool half-million dollars!

SkeletonsForHope.org shares information about how you can join the effort including inspiration for yard displays, a printable download for your yard, and more.

The annual fundraiser originated in Holly Springs, North Carolina when the Robertson family’s yard display became so popular, that they decided to use it for good.  When visitors came by to view the skeleton, they included a QR code to donate to St. Jude.   The family raised $7,000 their first year, according to wavy.com. and began a Facebook group encouraging other Halloween decorators to take part in Skeletons for St. Jude.
