Thomas Rhett was on the Today show this morning where he talked about tying with Carrie Underwood to win Entertainer of the Year.

He revealed that he flew back overnight to be with his family after the show ended and invited his wife Lauren to crash the interview.

The hosts asked Lauren how she felt watching Thomas win and she replied:

“Watching years and years of him put so much work and energy and love towards country music and the people who come to his shows and all the people that work with him and what they’ve done to make this happen…it feels like finally after all these years it’s his dream come true…and it’s just so cool and I’m just so proud of him”
