LISTEN: Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood Team Up on “If I Didn’t Love You”

Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood have teamed up on a new duet called “If I Didn’t Love You.”

The superstars teased fans with the release of this up-tempo ballad.  Carrie told fans today upon its release, “Had a blast in the studio singing with Jason…Hope you all enjoy it!”

But how did this epic collaboration happen? Jason told Apple Music Country host Kelleigh Bannen, “We’d kind of thrown around the idea of doing a duet, but we really didn’t have the song, and we were trying to force it with other songs, they just kind of went in one day to try and write, and this is what they came up with. We had already gone in and tracked most of the album; this thing kind of came at the last minute …”

He said the timing worked out perfectly with Carrie, who was promoting her Christmas and Gospel albums at the time.

He compared working with Carrie to another powerhouse singer, Kelly Clarkson. “You realize really quick who the better singer in the room is” Jason joked.  “It’s cool to be able to find my spot in the song to make my voice work with theirs.”

Jason just scored his 25th #1 hit with ‘Blame It On You’ and we’re guessing this will make it #26.
