The 2022 CMT Music Awards have a new date. The show, originally set for April 3, will now air live from Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium and locations in and around Music City Monday, April 11th.
The move came after the 64th Annual Grammy Awards were pushed back to April 3rd.
For the first time, the award show will NOT air on the channel it’s named after. Instead, the CMT Awards will be live on CBS, and will stream live and on-demand on Paramount+. “The CMT brand is preeminent in the world of country music, and we are thrilled that their team was able to coordinate a new date to bring this marquee event for television to CBS, and maximize the power of the ViacomCBS universe behind it,” says CBS EVP/Specials, Music, Live Events & Alternative Programming Jack Sussman.
Nominations, voting and additional details will be announced in the coming weeks.
