Chris Stapleton Honors Lionel Richie With Bluesy Performance of ‘Say You, Say Me’


Lionel Richie was recently awarded the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song during an all-star tribute concert.

Gloria Estefan, Chris Stapleton, Boyz II Men, Luke Bryan, Andra Day, Garth Brooks, and Yolanda Adams all took the stage to honor the singer.

The special, which aired on PBS, honored Richie’s hits such as “Endless Love,” “Lady,” “Truly,” “All Night Long,” “Stuck on You,” “Hello,” “Say You, Say Me” and “Dancing on the Ceiling.” He also co-wrote “We Are the World” along with “Three Times a Lady,” “Still,” and “Easy” during his time with The Commodores.

Luke Bryan took the stage to honor his fellow American Idol judge with a performance of “Lady” and Chris Stapleton gave a bluesy version of “Say You, Say Me”.
