Scotty McCreery and his wife Gabi are expecting their first child a little earlier than expected.

Scotty joined Lon Helton on Country Countdown USA where he revealed that a recent ultrasound shows the baby is measuring ahead of schedule.  Instead of a November arrival, “It looks like October 31st.’  I was like, ‘Oh boy! Halloween!’” Scotty shared.

The “Damn Straight” singer also shared that they don’t have a name picked out yet.  “I was pretty sold it was going to be a girl, and I think she did too,” Scotty shared. “So we had a girl name picked but, but we didn’t have a boy name. So we’re still in the process.  It will literally pop up at dinner.”

Scotty’s wife Gabi is a pediatric nurse and he explained that it may add to their anxieties as new parents. “I think she’s more of all the things that can go wrong,” he said. “She’s seen all that can go wrong, so that’s in her mind, but if I see her eyes get scared, I’ll probably freak out.”

Scotty’s latest single, “Damn Straight,” recently went to No. 1 on the Music Row Country Breakout Radio Chart. The song was written by Trent Tomlinson and Jim Collins.

“Every now and then you hear a song that sounds so much like you,” recalls McCreery. “I grew up as a huge George Strait fan, and when I heard this song, I raised my hand to say, ‘I want this one.’ Every country fan has a George Strait story, and everyone has a memory attached to their favorite songs.”
