Ashley McBryde Opens Up About Horse Riding Accident: “Life-Saving Measures Were Taken”

Ashley McBryde appeared on CBS Mornings where she discussed her new album, Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville, and opened up about a horse riding accident last year that almost took her life.

“It was pretty bad,” she shared in the interview. “We did kind of put out there that there had been an accident that had been a horse-specific wreck and that some shows were gonna have to be canceled. But we didn’t even know the extent of my injuries until all the imaging came back a little while later.”

“Life saving measures were taken,” she added.

Ashley shared that she has been back to visit the horse she fell from named Jenny.

“I got to go visit her last week. I thought it was to tell her that I was okay. She doesn’t care if I’m okay, but it was to make sure that I knew I was okay,” she joked.

The “One Night Standards” stinger also stopped to see the people, Bart, Wendy, and Caroline,  who treated her after her accident.

“To look at the people that were there and helped save my life…to look at them and know that they put breath into my lungs for me so I could live,” she shared, “And to be able to look at them and say, ‘Thank you for saving my life.’”

Ashley received a big surprise during the show.  Garth Brooks appeared via satellite to invite the singer to be the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry.
