Virginia Beach Animal Care is at Capacity; Seeks Community’s Help with Critical Situation

Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center is at capacity. The city shelter is out of open kennels for incoming animals.  As the city shelter, they are an open-intake facility and the situation is critical.

They ask for the community’s help to save these dogs at risk.  If you are able to adopt, now is the time to do so!

VBACAC has waived adoption fees for dogs in an effort to save more lives.

They also ask that if you are looking to rehome your pet PLEASE do not bring them to the shelter. Instead, please visit the virtual adoption website Home to Home at vbacac.com.

If you need assistance with medical care or food for a pet, visit their resources page for valuable info.

Please help save the lives of dogs like Libby, who was surrendered to the shelter at 12 1/2 years old.
