Morgan Wallen’s new music video for “Thought You Should Know” is a tribute to the song’s inspiration…his mother!
The video features home footage from his childhood, including the singer’s 2nd birthday. You can hear a small crowd singing “Happy Birthday” as he sits cradled in his mom’s arms. As the video progresses, a young Morgan can be seen hunting for Easter eggs, playing the violin, and riding in a wagon with his mother. Halfway through the sentimental clip, Morgan’s mother is shown in the present day watching her son record “Thought You Should Know” in the studio.
The country singer released the song just ahead of Mother’s Day in 2022 saying, “This one’s for you mama. I know it didn’t always seem like those prayers were getting through. I Hope this song is a testament to the fact that they did. Still your only damn son, Morgan.”
