Virginia Aquarium Offering Free Christmas Tree Recycling to Support Marine-Focused Conservation

You can recycle your Christmas tree this year at the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center.

The Aquarium announced a partnership with Marine Stewards America to collect and recycle Christmas trees in support of marine-focused conservation. Bring your bare, live-cut tree to Virginia Aquarium’s East Parking Lot between December 27 and January 6, drop it off in the designated area, and MSA will use the trees to restore sand dunes along our coastline.

The event is free to the public, but donations are appreciated and will go to the Aquarium’s Green Team and their efforts promoting sustainable practices.

The event is self-serve.  Residents can drop the tree off in the designated spot any time between 12/27 and 1/6. For more information, click here.
