Things are getting messy between Kelsea Ballerini and her ex-husband Morgan Evans.
During an interview on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Kelsea shared more details about their marriage. “I didn’t want to have a wedding, she said. “I swore I would never get married. He loved me more at 23 . . . and I love me more at 29.”
Kelsea also addressed Morgan’s new song, “Over For You,” saying, “As he’s putting out a song about being blindsided, he’s taking half the house he didn’t pay for. How was I married to this person for this long and had no idea that that bit of character was tucked within that human being?”
When asked about her rumored romance with Outer Banks star Chase Stokes she revealed that she slid into his DMs.
“I’ve never seen the show, but I just knew of him, and yeah. So I followed him [on Instagram] and he followed me, and I just swan dove right on in,” she told the podcast. His handle is @HiChaseStokes, and I said, ‘Hi, Chase Stokes,'”
When asked how Evans may feel seeing photos of her and Stokes online she shared, “He and I’s healing journeys are different. I think I grieved a lot of the marriage in the marriage. So I think I was ready to open back up — and I actually have no idea what his journey is right now — but I’ve just felt, why not. Why not?”
Meanwhile, Morgan hit up Twitter sounding surprised by everything Kelsea’s been saying.
“It’s really sad for me to see this person, who I spent so much of my life with, and loved with all my heart, saying things that aren’t reality, and that leave out what really happened. She knows I’m not the type of guy to speak on those things publicly. If this is what she needs to heal, I hope it helps. All I ask is that if you’re on my pages, please don’t be mean to Kelsea, don’t be mean to each other. Life’s too short.”
