Chase Rice Brings Fan on Stage to Sing “The Worst Rendition of ‘Country Roads’ I’ve Heard In My Life”

If you’re a country singer playing a show in West, Virginia, you’re pretty much obligated to do a cover of John Denver’s “Country Roads.”

At a recent Chase Rice concert in Morgantown, West Virginia, the singer asked for a volunteer from the crowd to join him on the second verse of the classic country song.

“I need someone who knows this second verse real, real well, and I need you to come up here and sing it the best you possibly can,” he told the crowd.

Chase pointed to a man in the audience to come up but a young woman jumped on stage instead. He joked, “She beat you to it, dude” and gave her the mic.

Well, she ended up delivering what Chase called “the worst rendition of ‘Country Roads’ I’ve ever heard in my life.’”

In a video shared on TikTok, @SaGe wrote, “The look #chaserice gave us when she began #singing made me laugh almost as hard as her bad singing.”

Warning, before you hit play, she changes the words to make it a little NSFW and also…the singing is really bad.  We mean REALLY bad.

Don’t say we didn’t warn you. Chase shared the video on Twitter saying, “Gotta love her effort.”
