Portsmouth-Based Mercy Chefs Deploys to Maui to Assist Residents Impacted by Wildfires

Portsmouth-based Mercy Chefs has deployed to Maui to help those affected by the catastrophic wildfires on the island.

On one of its first days, the team packed hundreds of meals into their cars to make meal deliveries in areas of great need. According to a Facebook post, volunteers “went into parks and neighborhoods where people, their neighbors and friends, have lost their everything — pushing through without power and some having not eaten a hot meal in days.”

“The need that our team is seeing is immense, and we’re honored to come alongside these communities to help them provide hope in the form of a meal,” Mercy Chefs shared on Facebook.

Mercy Chefs is a faith-based, non-profit disaster and humanitarian relief organization. They provide professionally prepared, restaurant-quality meals to victims, volunteers, and first responders in natural disasters and national emergencies.
