Va Beach Public Libraries Offer Programs and Eclipse Glasses Ahead of Upcoming Solar Eclipse

The Virginia Beach Public Library will host a variety of engaging activities to celebrate the upcoming Solar Eclipse, from preschool and elementary science sessions to model-building and arts and crafts workshops. Plus, attendees will receive FREE glasses for safely viewing the April eclipse! With limited supplies, VBPL is only able to offer the glasses to eclipse program attendees.

If the upcoming eclipse has piqued your interest in astronomy, VBPL has you covered with take-home tech items, including telescopes for beginner and intermediate astronomy enthusiasts, and “Measuring Light in the Night” kits for contributing to a community science project. For additional details about our eclipse programs and other exciting free activities happening this spring, visit VBPL’s online calendar. And for all things related to the April 8, 2024 eclipse, be sure to check out NASA’s 2024 Solar Eclipse site.
