Lainey Wilson received one of the highest honors in country music this week. Reba McEntire surprised Lainey with an invitation to join the Grand Ole Opry during her appearance on “The Voice.”
Lainey was overwhelmed with emotions telling Reba, “[My family] took me to Nashville when I was 9 years old and we went to the Grand Ole Opry . . . I knew that I wanted to play there, I wanted to do it.”
The “Wildflowers and Wildhorses” singer later shared on social media, “Somebody pinch me…I’m going to become a member of the @opry on June 7! This is the moment little Lainey dreamed about ever since her first trip to Nashville. Thank you @reba & @NBCTheVoice for the surprise of a lifetime.”
